1. Surprise Surprise

It's Birthday time for Faith and she's worried that no-one will remember. Hannah decides to organize a surprise party and calls upon the help of Paul, Caroline and Jools. Hannah is training to become a councilor and Caroline is seeking the attentions of Jools, who's only interest is Hannah. Faith's birthday arrives and things do not go according to plan when no-one meets her for a drink at work. Paul drives her home to the awaiting party to find that the flat has a fallen tree through it.

2. Share Options

The story continues and we rejoin Faith in her ruined flat. Hannah eventually persuades her to stay at Paul's place for a while. This proves a nightmare for Paul who regrets his offer. Jools decides to help with clearing up by sawing up the fallen tree and carving it into ornamental figures to sell (unsuccessfully). He then moves in to lend an unhelpful hand with the tidying up. Caroline leaves home and also moves into the chaos and then Faith returns home, fed up with Paul's complaints about her untidiness. A builder arrives on their doorstep to offer his services and not just his building services! Both Faith and Hannah find him annoying and yet secretly, they're both drooling over him and the story ends just as they manage to admit they fancy him when he was standing right behind them, although they didn't realize until it was too late.

3. Hearts And Flowers

The builder begins work on the flat with both Faith and Hannah trying to impress him although at first, neither of them want to be there for when he arrives! Paul is having a mid-life crisis after discovering he is soon to become a grandfather, which amuses Faith considerably. Hannah is finding counciling difficult and gets very worried when she discovers she has spent the night with Jules. Jules, however is extremely pleased but it turns out that nothing actually happened. Only Caroline knew what really went on that night and told all sometime later.

4. Goodbye To Love

Hannah decides to abstain from sexual relations and alcoholic beverages. She persuades a reluctant Faith to do the same. She is really still trying to impress the builder who seems to be making very slow progress on the flat. Jools and his band put on a performance and as usual when Jools is around, things go disastrously wrong. Some of their equipment explodes, leaving Jools to entertain the audience, which he does, to the astonishment of everyone who knows him. He is then asked back to give a second comedy performance, but his preparations for this do not go well. Hannah decides to go away on a weekend course and breaks her vow of celibacy. She returns home to find that Faith is now enjoying her new lifestyle and looks very guilty.

5. Always On My Mind

The Builder has almost finished work on the flat and he and Faith finally go out on a date together. Just as Faith is thinking things are going well in her life, a letter arrives from her long lost daughter, adopted at birth. Jools is becoming famous after doing more stand up sessions although Hannah is not impressed with the material he is using on stage. Hannah and her teacher meet again after their night together. Faith breaks the news about her other daughter and awaits her visit. She manages to mistake a travelling sales woman for her and it's not until her daughter (called Zoe) phones to say she's not coming, that she realizes it.

6. Prodigal Mother

Faith's long-lost daughter arrives and Faith spends lots of time getting to know her, making Hannah very unhappy. Mark the builder is still trying to charm faith, and Zoe the long-lost daugter visits at a very inapropriate time. Jools is still working on his stad up routines and is still hanging arround and annoying Hannah, who herself is contemplating moving in with her tutor. She becomes very upset when Faith becomes more and more friendly with Zoe and walks out.

7. Stand By Me

Faith is planning a family dinner for the weekend but everything is going against her. Mark (The builder) offers to take her for a weekend away but Faith refuses. Zoe decides she needs some time away to take in the recent events and Hannah is planning to move in with her tutor! Jools offers to take Hannah on a holiday but she refuses. Paul returns, unexpectedly from visiting his new granddaughter, in France and announces that he is going to re-marry his ex-wife. He invites Faith to the wedding. Hannah discovers her tutor is playing around and insults him during her final counselling exam and then decides to take up Jools' offer of a holiday. So Faith is left all alone for the weekend and this is how the story ended.
