Wanted: Masochist To Be at Beck and Call of Cantankerous Old Trout
First Class, elderly widow Miss Farnaby has placed an ad in a local paper... Wanted: young person to render general domestic assistance. But according to Bert and Alice, the two surly servants who work for Miss Farnaby, the notice should read "Wanted: Masochist to be at Beck and Call of Cantankerous Old Trout."

Fortunately, Mulberry has never met Bert or Alice. In fact, no one knows where he comes from. Out of the blue, he just turns up one day, without a single qualification to his name, and sweet-talks his way into the job. Suddenly, the dull old manor house is not dull any more, and Miss Farnaby's life will never be the same again.
This charming British situation comedy was canceled after only 13 episodes, probably due to a lack of interest among then U.K. TV audiences. The show later became somewhat of a cult hit among North American viewers though, after being aired in the U.S. on PBS stations.
Good News! The BBC has released Mulberry: The Complete Series to American DVD. To purchase this DVD set from Amazon.com, just follow this link.
